Why use AR?
As a customer you have the right to expect that your tester is serviced in a timely fashion and the work meets your high standards. When your instrument is sent back to AR for service your satisfaction is our top priority.
Our PrecisionCARE™ program offers benefits that a typical calibration house cannot, providing our customers with a comprehensive and positive service experience. With expert technicians who work solely on Associated Research testers you can rest assured that they have the knowledge to service your instrument, whatever the need.
At AR, we understand that different companies have different calibration needs. That is why we offer 3 different calibration services.
Standard Calibration - Our standard calibration offers our customers a quality calibration at an affordable price. Standard calibration will ensure that the instrument meets its published specifications. A calibration certificate is provided. This is an economical calibration for customers not requiring data or accreditation.
Calibration with data - Our calibration with data offers our customers the same quality calibration as the standard calibration. A calibration certificate is also provided along with measurement data reports. Calibration with data will provide Before (as received) data and After (as returned) data.
Accredited Calibration - Our accredited calibration offers our customers a A2LA accredited certificate that provides measurement data reports with measurement uncertainty. There are four options for our Accredited Calibration.
- ISO 17025 accredited calibration will provide an ISO 17025 certificate with uncertainty data using the Associated Research, Inc specification limits
- ANSI Z540.1-1994 accredited calibration will provide an ISO 17025 certificate with uncertainty data using the Associated Research, Inc specification limits
- CTL specification sheet DSH 251B accredited calibration will provide an ISO 17025 certificate with uncertainty data using CTL specification limits
- Denan’s law accredited calibration will provide an ISO 17025 certificate with uncertainty data using Denan’s law specifications limits

Why wait?
At AR, we offer the quickest turn-around time in our industry. We know the strain that an instrument taken off the production line can have on manufacturing schedules. That is why we guarantee our turn-around time and the quality of work. There is no reason to wait weeks while your instrument is being serviced: our standard calibration and calibration with Data is guaranteed to be completed in 24 hours. Our Accredited calibration is typically completed in 72 hours.
Our flat rate repair service that includes standard calibration or calibration with data is guaranteed to be completed in 48 hours. Any flat rate repair service that includes accredited calibration will be completed in 96 hours. Additional turn-around time will be required for all non-flat rate repairs (i.e. older instruments requiring a service estimate). Typical turn-around time will be 72 hours for all non-flat rate repairs requiring standard calibration or calibration with data. The turn-around time for all non-flat rate repairs requiring accredited calibration will be 120 hours.
The expertise of our dedicated technicians allows us to get your tester back to you sooner and in better condition. No one else is able to service our instruments faster and with such attention to detail.

Why pay more?
You can search for published rates that are lower but you will not be able to match the same value that our PrecisionCARE™ program offers. Our expert technicians are more familiar with our instruments than anyone else. This means that your instrument will be serviced thoroughly and more accurately. Our technicians have access to the most up-to-date calibration procedures and published specifications. This allows your instruments to stay current and to have any required updates installed. Furthermore, sending your instrument back to AR will automatically extend the warranty for an entire year. The standard warranty can be extended for up to five years simply by returning it to us for its required calibration. This means you can guarantee your instrument to be free from manufacturing defects for up to five years. This value cannot be found by using a typical calibration house. With so many advantages that our competitors cannot offer, it is easy to see that with PrecisionCARE™ you get more while paying less.

Instrument Repair
The majority of our repair work is billed at a flat rate. This allows us to repair your instrument in a timely and cost-effective manner. Unlike a service estimate process, the flat rates we have in place enable us to guarantee a turn-around time of 48 hours after we receive the tester. This lessens the amount of time that your tester is actually away from your production area which in turn saves you time and money.
Our flat rates also allow you to budget for repair costs without having to worry about being over-charged or an estimate coming in way above projected costs. The goals of our repair and service center have always been to provide quality service and quick turnaround at a fair price. We believe that our flat rate pricing will help us to better achieve these objectives and improve our overall customer service level.
Please note that our flat rate includes standard calibration. Repairs that require calibration with data or Accredited Calibration will have additional charges. Instruments that have been subjected to gross misuse, shipping and customer damage, or have been discontinued for 5 years or more will require a service estimate process. Contact us to see pricing for your specific model. AR cannot guarantee service for any instrument discontinued for 5 years or longer.
How to use AR
It is easy to use AR for your service needs. Before returning your instrument you will need to receive an RMA (Return Materials Authorization) number from our customer support department. This allows us to expedite the processing of your instrument.
You can request an RMA number by visiting our RMA Request page. You can also call us at 1-800-858-8378 (TEST). In order to provide an RMA number we will need the model number and the serial number of any instrument you wish to return. We will also need a shipping address to return your instrument and a billing address for all relevant invoicing. When packaging your instrument for return please clearly mark the RMA number on the outside of the box. It is also a good idea to include the RMA number on the packaging list. This will again help expedite processing. Please make sure that each instrument is packaged securely in its own box. If possible you can use the box that was used for original shipment.
Please note that unless stated otherwise on the purchase order, all calibrated items come with a calibration recommendation interval of 1 year from the calibration date.
