Q. How do I return an instrument for service?
A. Please call our Customer Support Center at 1-800-858-TEST (8378) (USA and Canada only), or 847-367-4077, and request a return material authorization number (RMA). Please return the instrument in its original packing materials with the freight prepaid. Enclose any special instructions and a brief explanation of what is wrong with the instrument or what services you would like performed.
Q. What is your turnaround time for service work?
A. Our turnaround time for both calibration and service repair work leads the industry. We guarantee 24 hour turnaround time for our Standard Calibration and our Calibration with Data. If this turnaround is not met, we will pay the return shipping. Our ISO 17025 Calibration is typically completed in 72 hours. Likewise, we guarantee a 48 hour turnaround time on all repair service work or we pay the return shipping. Repair service work that requires ISO 17025 calibration will typically take 96 hours.
Q. My tester is in need of repair how much will it cost?
A. We bill the majority of our repair work at a flat rate. This allows us to service your instrument in a timely and cost-effective manner. Our flat rate fees apply only to currently manufactured models or recently discontinued models. Any instrument that has been subject to gross misuse, shipping and customer damage, or has been discontinued for more than 5 years will require an estimate. Q. What calibration services do you offer?
A. We understand that every company has different calibration needs. That is why we offer 3 different calibration services. We offer a standard calibration that provides a calibration certificate. We also offer calibration with data that provides a calibration certificate and measure data reports. The data report will provide Before (as received) and After (as returned) data. Our third offering is an ISO 17025 Calibration. This calibration provides an accredited certificate with measurement data reports that includes measurement uncertainty. This calibration meets any requirements for compliance to ISO 17025.

Q. Do you provide on-site calibration services?
A. Yes. Please contact our Service Department for details of our on-site calibration services.
Q. What is the calibration interval you recommend for your instruments?
A. We recommend annual calibration. Safety agencies usually require annual calibration as the minimum time interval necessary to maintain published accuracy.
Q. Does your service work come with a warranty?
A. Yes all of our repair work includes a 90 day warranty.
Q. If I modify my instrument will it void my warranty?
A. Yes. Any non-factory modification will void your warranty. In addition, it is our policy that should be find any unauthorized modifications during service work that could compromise operator safety we will return the instrument to its original specifications and safety level and charge you accordingly.
