Associated Research’s HypotULTRA® III line of advanced hipot testers has received UL Listing
HypotULTRA III fully-automated hipot testers now carry the combined Canada/US UL listing mark
Lake Forest, Illinois, Feb. 2004 - Announced today by Associated Research, Inc is the C-UL US listing mark on their HypotULTRA III line of advanced hipot testers. Underwriter's Laboratories, an independent not for profit product safety testing and certification organization is one of the most recognized safety agencies in the world. The UL Listing number that HypotULTRA III has received is E204261; this means that the HypotULTRA III family has been tested to and passed all the specifications called out in UL 61010B-1. The Canada/U.S. listing mark complies with regulations for both countries.
UL listing provides assurance to manufacturers that the fundamental design of HypotULTRA III is safe for normal operator use. UL is also a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) therefore the UL Listed HypotULTRA III also provides compliance to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards of the U.S. Department of Labor.
The HypotULTRA III product family consists of two different models, the 7620, which is a 5KV AC Hipot tester and the 7650, which is a 5 KV AC and DC Hipot tester with a built-in Insulation Resistance tester. The 7620 is a perfect solution for manufacturers who require only AC test voltage but need to test in an automated environment. The 7650 is an ideal for automated applications that require multiple hipot tests. Optional 4-port and 8-port internal scanners are also available for both models. The availability of 4 or 8 port scanners in either AC only or AC/DC/IR versions provide flexibility in configuring a tester that meets a user's specific needs. HypotULTRA III also features a unique dual continuity test mode. One mode will perform a simultaneous ground continuity test along with the hipot test. This is a basic ground continuity test that is performed on the safety ground circuit of the Device Under Test (DUT) as required by many safety agencies. The second test mode allows for point-to-point continuity tests and hipot tests to be performed at voltages up to 5,000 volts. Previously manufacturers were forced to rely on custom built systems to perform these tests. This new continuity test mode is designed to be performed through the internal scanning matrix. This automates the test in that measurement points are changed via the scanner and allows an unlimited number of points to be tested.
Additional features of the HypotULTRA III include an enhanced graphic LCD, patented SmartGFI® safety circuit, VERI-CHEK® feature, CAL-ALERT® feature, an exclusive prompt and hold feature, electronic ramping, 50 test memories, real current measurement and a digitally controlled arc detection system.
